MDM: Taking Charge of Your Data Cape Town 11 May 2010 | Johannesburg 12 May 2010Data is an enterprise's most valuable asset. Whether it's in unstructured, structured, or archived forms - and regardless of whether it resides inside the enterprise, in partners' systems, or in the cloud - the ability to find it, trust it, and use it to drive effective actions is key to competitive advantage.
So why are so many organisations still accepting business decisions based on inconsistent, unreliable data as being "good enough"?
Getting real value from data can seem daunting at first - after all, if it were easy, everyone would be using their data to make brilliant decisions
and keep business operations running smoothly. Overcoming the challenges to become a data-driven enterprise requires a clear Master Data Management (MDM)
strategy, commitment and a change in culture. You have to make investments in people and processes - as well as technology.
But the resulting benefits are more than worth it and the cost of neglect is far greater.
During this event you will learn best practices that will help you successfully implement MDM initiatives and continue your evolution into being a
data-driven enterprise - with business and IT finally on the same page and concentrating on collaborating in order to increase operational efficiency.
The business will be empowered to become more self-sufficient while also sharing the responsibility for data quality and data governance.
And the promise of SOA will finally be realised with data, rules and policies being reused across the extended enterprise.
The result will be an agile organisation which is fully prepared for innovation.

Informatica Race Day - 7 May 2009Striding from the pit, helmet in hand, dressed like the pro's themselves ready to fly like the wind...
This was the the Informatica Race Day, held on 7 May 2009.
Tony Young, CIO of Informatica Corporation in conjunction with Informatica South Africa, invited customers to join in a discussion around the importance of Data to every enterprise and the challenges being faced in these troubled times.
But, that was just the beginning. The afternoon that followed was one many will never forget.
A training and safety course prepared all who had the nerve to speed around the Kyalami Race track in world class racing cars. The first few laps were taken with caution, but as the drivers built up their courage so their speed increased, until their shaky nerves would allow them NO FASTER.
Going at speeds of up to 180km per hour, most were left blown away by the experience.
It truly was a fantastic day, hosted by the Fantastic Racing team.

Informatica Golf Day - 19 May 2009The Informatica South Africa Golf Day was held on the 19 May 2009 at the spacious and beautiful Gardener Ross Golf and Country Estate.
Customers and Partners joined the Informatica team for a full day on the golf course.
Each 4-ball faced the challenging bunkers, some splashed down into the water obstacles and lost their balls to the murky depths, while others tried out a range of chip and drive approaches. However, it was a fun filled, sun filled day and a good time was had by all.
A delicious buffet dinner and a prize giving where all were rewarded made the perfect end to a long day.
